Absolutely what you need to know about Nissan's E Power Engines

Alright! probably you have heard about Nissan's new Engine(e power) or if not, well we'll talk about it here so you know how it works, and of course, what advantages it has over the existing engine types. For learning purpose, An engine or motor is a machine designed to convert one form of energy into mechanical energy. Heat engines convert heat into work via various thermodynamic processes. By that, The very first self-powered road vehicles were powered by steam engines. Nowadays we have internal combustion engines that have become the heart of Automobile and how they work is that they use the explosive combustion of fuel to push a piston within a cylinder. the piston's movement turns a crankshaft that then turns the car wheels via a chain or a drive shaft, in addition, they use different types of fuels such as petrol, gasoline, diesel and kerosene. Its, unlike motor engines for electric cars whose performance heavily depends on its motors(AC and DC) and battery pack.

People often asked which is better between Petrol and diesel engines? and for some time, I have had private talk sessions with car engine repairers who gave me some insights of their views in their experience of dealing with cars of both sector, the short answer is,  In petrol engines, the power developed is low due to the compression ratio whereas, in diesel engines, the power is more. In terms of Car Maintenance Cost. The maintenance cost of diesel cars is higher than petrol cars. This is because consumables like engine oil and spares used in diesel vehicles are more expensive. A diesel engine however does not need a spark plug and thus has higher compression. This makes the diesel engine utilise more fuel as compared to a petrol engine. The better mileage of a diesel engine makes it easy to cover the extra cost of the car paid initially, but with the increasing cost of cars, the time required to recover this cost has increased. That said, the choice is still yours to decide. Personally, I'm with petrol and I love it but I don't know why. There's this Nostalgia I've got that Diesel engines are loud at noise especially as they get old but then it doesn't really hammer their performance. Now, let's focus on Nissan's e power Engine

First things first, the Nissan e power is a hundred per cent electric motor driven System that gives a powerful refined driving performance that is fun, enjoyable and intuitive, relaxing and quiet with excellent fuel efficiency. 

How it works:

The electric motor provides power to the wheels. when the car decelerates, energy is captured and stored in the battery via regenerative braking. The inverter then converts DC(Direct Current) and AC (Alternating Current) to manage electric power between the battery and electric motor. Adjustments to the electric motor are made within Fractions of a second for a responsive refined driving experience. Vehicles with this engine use a lightweight, compact high-performance lithium-ion battery. The gasoline engine generates electricity to charge the battery which powers the electric motor. The Engine is a hundred per cent electric motor driven with energy supplied by the gasoline engine. 

Driving using the electric motor powered by the battery will provide a smooth and quiet drive. when a driver eases up the accelerator, the electric motor charges the battery using regenerative braking while the vehicle decelerates smoothly.

The e power engine has both high fuel efficiency and high power generation efficiency. Electric power is provided with both battery and Engine resulting in impressive power output and fast acceleration. you can control the vehicles speed by operating only the accelerator pedal thus there is a reduction in the need to switch between pedals when accelerating or braking

Nissan LEAF

The very first example of such an engine has been used in the Nissan LEAF,  a compact five-door hatchback battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufactured by Nissan. It was FIRST introduced in Japan and the United States in December 2010, and it is currently in its second generation, introduced in Japan in October 2017. Some folks have always asked why the LEAF is always been spelt in capital letters on all surfaces. well, I've done my best to uncover a reason. It's because the name of the world’s best-selling EV is actually an acronym. it’s a usually descriptive acronym by the Japanese car-industry standards: this car is Nissan’s ‘Leading Environmentally-friendly Affordable Family vehicle. Don't ask me why it's LEFAFV instead of LEAF as earlier stated.
